Communtication
John
Gottman, Ph.D.
It turns out that in all human interaction …what's par for the course
is miscommunication, not communication. And communication is a lot
like baseball where a good batting average is 350. This means that
the baseball player's missing sixty-five percent of the balls. And
that's true in human communication too and in marital communication
as well.

I think being coy or subtle is no
good. You just come right out and say I would like to have a fur coat
for our anniversary. And then that's it, instead of hoping that he'll
say, darling, are you chilly tonight, which you know, they never do
that.
